Nucleus STEM Lectures - Dr. Alex Woodacre, Revealing the invisible: How microscopic life has a big impact.

On Thursday 23rd January we welcomed Dr Alex Woodacre from the University of Northampton to present the latest lecture in our STEM Lecture Series.

In attendance were students from Northampton Academy's Nucleus STEM Stream and A level biology cohort, and we also welcomed A level Biology students from Pitsford School.

Dr. Woodacre discussed the range of impacts that microorganisms have on life from our general health and the fauna living within us to disease and other uses of microbes. The students asked some excellent questions and enjoyed being able to discover more about a wide and interesting subject.

Our Nucleus STEM Lecture Series continues on Thursday 19th March when Prof. Steve Hubbard from the University of Dundee visits to present a lecture titled "Can humans survive?  The ecology of human beings and their place in a sustainable world"

If your school and would like to bring a group of students to this, or any of our future lectures, please complete the expression of interest form found here >>>
